NYSE Euronext (NYSE Euronext: NYX), the world's largest and most liquid exchange group, today reported record transaction volume in its U.S. equity options trading operations on NYSE Arca Options. Trading 38.2 million total contracts in October, a 21.5% increase from the previous record of 31.4 million contracts set in August 2007, NYSE Arca Options also achieved a new record in overall share of trading, capturing 14.2% of all equity options contracts traded, a 2.1% increase from the year-to-date figure of 12.1%. Average daily volume on NYSE Arca Options was also a new record with 1.66 million contracts traded per day in October.
