As senior vice president, Government Relations, Ms. Rich will be responsible for managing the Exchange's relationships with Congress, the Executive branch, state and city governments and regulatory agencies, including the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Ms. Rich will manage the Exchange’s Washington D.C. office and the Government Relations staff in New York.
A nine-year veteran of Capitol Hill, Ms. Rich served most recently as Senior Counsel for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Financial Services. She served as senior adviser to Committee Chairman Michael G. Oxley, Subcommittee Chairman Richard H. Baker and other Members of the Committee on all securities-related issues since the Committee’s inception in 2001.

Prior to working with the Committee on Financial Services, Ms. Rich served as Counsel for more than five years for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Commerce on all matters relating to finance and the capital markets. From 1990 to 1995, Ms. Rich worked as an associate in the Financial Services Practice Group for Ropes & Gray in Boston, Mass. and Washington, D.C.
Ms. Rich, 40, graduated from Brown University and received her J.D. with honors from George Washington University, where she was articles and book review editor for the Law Review.
