NYSE Announces Third-Quarter 2002 Financial Results

The New York Stock Exchange reported revenues of $632.7 million and net income of $21.0 million in the first nine months of 2002, as compared with $662.2 million and $48.3 million during the same period a year ago.

For third-quarter 2002, revenues totaled $207.7 million and net income was $279,000, compared with $217.4 million and $6.5 million, respectively, in third-quarter 2001.

Average daily trading volume for the first nine months of 2002 was 1.44 billion shares worth $42.0 billion, compared with 1.22 billion shares worth $43.4 billion in the comparable period of 2001. In the first nine months of 2002, 104 companies joined the roster of NYSE-listed stocks, compared with 101 in the year-ago period.
