NYSE Alternext US LLC today reported short interest as of the close of business on the settlement date of March 13, 2009.
Based on information received from member and non-member organizations, short interest increased to 180,411,544 shares from 177,720,840 shares(revised) February 27, 2009. (During the last period, eight previously-listed NYSE Alternext US companies left the Exchange.)
This reflects short interest reported by all broker-dealers (not only NYSE Alternext US member firms) in NYSE Alternext US-listed securities. A short position of 5,000 or more shares existed in 350 issues. Some short position was shown in 640 issues.
This short interest report was compiled by NYSE Alternext US on the basis on information obtained from its member and non-member organizations covering all securities traded on the Exchange in both round and odd-lots.
