Nymex To Raise Margin Rates On PJM Interconnection, NYISO Zone A, Zone G, And Zone J Electricity Futures Contracts

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., announced today that it will increase the margins on PJM Interconnection and the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) electricity contracts at the close of business tomorrow.

Margin rates on the PJM Interconnection futures contract will increase to $4,500 from $2,500 for clearing members, to $4,950 from $2,750 for members, and to $6,075 from $3,375 for customers.

Margin rates on the NYISO Zone A and NYISO Zone G futures contracts will increase to $3,750 from $1,500 for clearing members, to $4,125 from $1,650 for members, and to $5,063 from $2,025 for customers.

Margins on the NYISO Zone J futures contract will increase to $5,000 from $1,500 for clearing members, to $5,500 from $1,650 for members and to $6,750 from $2,025 for customers.
