Nymex To List Two Additional Weeks For Weekly PJM Electricity Futures Contracts

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., will list an additional two weeks of trading in the PJM weekly electricity futures contract beginning on August 10 for the August 11 trading session.

The additional contract weeks initially will cover the weeks of August 25 to August 29 and September 1 to September 5.

This change adds the third and fourth nearby week to the first two weeks that are currently listed. The additional weeks will be listed at the start of trading on NYMEX ClearPort^sm at 7 PM on August 10.

The PJM weekly contract was introduced on June 26.

Exchange President J. Robert Collins, Jr., said, "By extending the number of weeks listed, the Exchange will give market participants additional opportunities for managing price risk in a volatile marketplace, and expand the risk management flexibility of the electricity industry."
