NYMEX To Launch NewRBOB Gasoline Options, Swap Futures Contracts

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc. today announced that it will launch new RBOB gasoline options and swap futures contracts that will begin trading on November 26 for trade date November 27.

The new contracts and their commodity codes are: RBOB gasoline European look-alike options (RF); RBOB gasoline average price options (RA); RBOB gasoline crack spread options (RX); RBOB gasoline one-month spread (ZA); RBOB gasoline two-month spread (ZB); RBOB gasoline three-month spread (ZC); RBOB gasoline six-month spread (ZM); and New York Harbor gasoline vs. RBOB gasoline swap futures (RZ).

The RBOB gasoline crack spread options contract will be 1,000 barrels in size with a minimum price fluctuation of $0.01 per barrel. All other contracts will be 42,000 gallons with a minimum price fluctuation of $0.0001 per gallon.

For the RBOB European look-alike options and the RBOB average price options contracts, floor fees will be $0.40 for members, $1.35 for non-members, and $0.75 for COMEX members. Exchange of options for options fees will be $0.40 for members and $1.35 for non-members. Cash settlement fees will be $0.90 for members and $1.15 for non-members. NYMEX ClearPort® clearing fees will be $1.75 for members and $2.50 for non-members.

For RBOB crack spread options and RBOB calendar spread options contracts, floor fees will be $0.40 for members, $1.35 for non-members, and $0.75 for COMEX members. Fees for exchange of options for options will be $0.40 for members and $1.35 for non-members. Exercise fees will be $0.40 for members and $0.85 for non-members. Futures from exercise/assignment fees will be $0.40 for members and $1.35 for non-members.

For the New York Harbor gasoline vs. RBOB gasoline swap futures contracts, on NYMEX ClearPort trading, liquidity providers will receive $1.00 and the opposite side will pay $2.50. The NYMEX ClearPort® clearing and cash settlement fees will be $2.20 for members and $2.70 for non-members.

Margins for the New York Harbor gasoline vs. RBOB gasoline spread swap futures contract will be $500 for clearing members, $550 for members, and $675 for customers. Intra-commodity spread margins will be $240 for clearing members, $264 for members, and $324 for customers.
