NYMEX To Increase Unleaded Gasoline Margins

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., announced today that it will increase the margins on its unleaded gasoline futures contracts, New York harbor gasoline calendar swap futures contracts, and unleaded gasoline crude oil crack spreads contracts for the September 2003 contract month at the close of business tomorrow.

The margins for unleaded gasoline futures contracts and New York harbor unleaded gasoline calendar swap futures contracts will be increased to $4,000 from $2,500 for clearing members, to $4,400 from $2,750 for members, and to $5,400 from $3,375 for customers.

The margins on the unleaded gasoline crude oil crack spreads contracts will be increased to $2,275 from $1,680 for clearing members, to $2,305 from $1,848 for members, and to $3,071 from $2,268 for customers.
