The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., today announced that it will reschedule the introduction of internet-based NYMEX ACCESS electronic trading to allow more time for member firms to address issues raised by firewall protections and for individual traders to upgrade computer equipment.
The transition to an internet-based platform for the system was scheduled to occur on September 3. The Exchange has offered electronic trading on NYMEX ACCESS via a proprietary network since 1993.
The Exchange said that it plans to announce a new implementation date shortly.
