The New York Mercantile Exchange has received approval from the Commodity Futures
Trading Commission (CFTC) to change the expiration schedule for its platinum options contract to the
third Wednesday of the month preceding the contract month, beginning with the expiration of the
May 2001 contract.
If the third Wednesday is the day before an Exchange holiday, the expiration date becomes the
preceding business day.
Currently, platinum options expire on the second Friday of the prior month.
