e–miNYsm volume of 5,138 contracts surpassed the previous record 5,074 contracts set on October 8, 2002, while e–miNYsm crude oil futures volume of 4,906 contracts exceeded the previous record of 4,639 contracts also set on October 8, 2002.
PJM daily electricity futures volume was a record of 1,280 contracts traded on the NYMEX ClearPortsm electronic platform, compared to the previous record of 960 contracts traded on December 17, 2003.

While geared to different trading communities, both the e–miNYsm and PJM electricity complexes represent the innovation that the Exchange has demonstrated in the last few years in customizing more flexible products to meet specific demand."
e-miNYsm futures are traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange GLOBEX® system and cleared through the New York Mercantile Exchange clearinghouse. They are 50% of the size of the standard–sized energy futures contracts and are traded from 3:15 PM, New York time, Mondays through Thursdays, and 7 PM, New York time, on Sundays until 2:30 PM the following day, with breaks between 9:30 AM and 10 AM, 2:30 PM and 3:15 PM, and 5:30 PM and 6:00 PM.
PJM daily electricity futures trade from 3:15 PM, Mondays through Thursdays, until 2:30 PM the next day on NYMEX ClearPortsm. On Sundays, trading begins at 7 PM. Electronic trading for the balance of the spot month and weekly PJM futures contracts are also available on NYMEX ClearPortsm sm during the same times. Clearing services for off–:exchange transactions in the PJM contracts are available until 2:40 PM.
