Nymex Sets Record In Overnight Heating Oil Trading

A record 4,326 heating oil futures contracts were traded on the New York Mercantile Exchange ACCESS® electronic trading system last night, surpassing the previous record of 3,910 contracts traded in the February 27 overnight session.

Exchange President J. Robert Collins, Jr., said, "Overnight trading volume on NYMEX ACCESS® is up 19% year-to-date, serving as a strong indication of the appreciation by market participants of the unparalleled flexibility in managing price risk offered by the Exchange. With the migration of the NYMEX ACCESS® products to NYMEX ClearPortsm later this fall, the opportunities and synergies in our markets can be expected to expand even further."
