Nymex Sets Record In Gasoline Futures Trading

A record 1,203,821 New York harbor gasoline futures contracts were traded on the NYMEX Division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., during May, surpassing the previous monthly record of 1,105,044 futures traded in October 2002.

Exchange President J. Robert Collins, Jr., said, "The record volume in this market is indicative of the growth in confidence that market participants place in the transparency and safety of the Exchange's markets, particularly during times of extraordinary stress.
