Nymex Sets Record For Overnight Crude Oil Futures Volume

Light, sweet crude oil futures volume set an overnight record on the New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., on Monday night when 46,093 contracts were traded, surpassing the previous record of 40,559 contracts set on October 13.

Exchange President James E. Newsome said, "NYMEX ACCESS® trading volume through the first three quarters is running 35% higher than last year's record performance, as market participants find it increasingly important to manage their price risk at all hours of the day given the current market conditions."
