NYMEX Sets Record Copper Volume

Copper futures trading set a daily volume record on the New York Mercantile Exchange on April 25 when 44,273 contracts were traded, surpassing the previous record of 35,444 contracts traded on February 28, 2000.

Exchange President R. Patrick Thompson said, "We are delighted with this record which is evidence of the continued growth and success of our contracts as they are used as tools for risk management and price discovery in the global market."
