NYMEX Sets Monthly Copper Volume Record in June

A monthly volume record for COMEX Division copper futures was established in June with 319,157 contracts traded by month's end, surpassing the previous monthly volume record of 296,162 contracts traded in April of this year. Exchange President R. Patrick Thompson said, 'The Exchange is very pleased with the continued growth of the copper futures contract as a tool for global price discovery and risk management. Year-to-date, copper futures volume is up 21%, further evidence of the value this industry places on the security and dependability of our marketplace.'
