Nymex Sets Heating Oil Record On NYMEX Access®

The New York Mercantile Exchange traded a record 5,718 heating oil futures contracts on its NYMEX ACCESS® electronic trading platform last night, exceeding the previous record of 4,910 contracts traded during the January 9 session.

Exchange President J. Robert Collins, Jr., said, "Coming on the heels of our overall heating oil futures volume record in 2003, this overnight record demonstrates the continued vibrancy of this 25-year-old market along with the commercial sector support for reliable, transparent, and liquid risk management tools."
