The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc. announced today that it set daily volume records for total energy futures, gasoline, heating oil, and NYMEX miNYTM crude oil futures traded on CME Globex and on two NYMEX ClearPort® products on August 10.
Total energy futures volume on CME Globex reached 193,327 contracts, topping the 186,698 contracts traded on August 8.The gasoline futures contract traded a record 3,559 contracts, surpassing the 1,998 contracts traded on August 8. The heating oil futures contract reached 3,435 contracts, exceeding the previous record of 1,824 contracts set on August 9. The NYMEX miNYTM crude oil futures contract traded a record 109,674 contracts, surpassing the 107,457 contracts traded on July 19. On NYMEX ClearPort®, the NYISO Zone A monthly peak swap futures contract set a record with 9,198 contracts, exceeding the 4,866 contracts cleared on February 13. The NYISO Zone G monthly peak swap futures contract cleared 9,708 contracts topping the 5,587 contracts on November 8, 2005.
