The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc. announced that it set daily volume records yesterday for total futures contracts, crude oil, heating oil, and gold futures on the CME Globex electronic trading platform.
Total Globex volume reached 593,165 contracts, surpassing the 554,080 contracts traded on November 16.
Crude oil futures traded a record 386,832 contracts, exceeding the 361,940 contracts traded on November 16. Heating oil set a record when 41,138 contracts traded, beating the 39,639 contracts that traded on November 29.
The gold futures contact traded 33,657 contracts, surpassing the previous record of 32,444 contracts set on December 6.
