NYMEX Sets Daily Volume Record For Gold Futures On CME Globex®

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., a subsidiary of NYMEX Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:NMX), announced today that it set a daily volume record for its gold futures contract on the CME Globex electronic trading platform yesterday.

Gold futures reached 136,881 contracts, surpassing the 129,395 contracts traded on March 28.

NYMEX launched its physically settled futures contracts for trading on CME Globex during regular open outcry trading hours on September 5, 2006, following its initial offering of financially settled, standard–sized and NYMEX miNY^TM energy futures contracts for trading on CME Globex on June 12. On December 4, NYMEX introduced full–sized and COMEX miNY^TM metals futures contracts for side–by–side trading.
