NYMEX Names New Vice President, Counsel

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc. today announced that it has retained Daniel Goldfisher as vice president and counsel, focusing on corporate transactions and intellectual property matters.

Mr. Goldfisher joins NYMEX from the global law firm Clifford Chance US LLP, where he represented major financial services and technology companies. His experience includes mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions, including intellectual property work related to technology, software and financial services methods, from portfolio development and management to licensing and litigation.

Mr. Goldfisher's previous experience includes serving as managing counsel of Omnipoint Communications, a public company where he was responsible for a range of legal and regulatory areas related to the company's technology, commercial and business development.

Mr. Goldfisher received his bachelor of science in electrical and computer engineering from The Johns Hopkins University. After working at Reuters on the development team for its real-time news and financial information delivery platform, he attended Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he earned his juris doctor.
