Nymex Names New Vice President

The New York Mercantile Exchange board of directors has promoted Karen Ogulnick to vice president of NYMEX ACCESS®, the Exchange's electronic trading system.

Ms. Ogulnick was director of business planning for NYMEX ACCESS® at the time of her promotion. She has also worked as senior analyst for NYMEX ACCESS® and was responsible for initiating and managing the computer help desk after joining the Exchange in 1989. In her new capacity, Ms. Ogulnick looks forward to enhancing the functionality of NYMEX ACCESS®, particularly by adding the ability to view implied bids and offers in various commodities based on the spread market and integrating the system with the Nymex platform.

She also worked at Kidder, Peabody where she programmed, tested, and trained brokers on the firm's retail brokerage system.

She holds a bachelor of arts degree in German from Colby College, and a master of arts and doctorate in theoretical linguistics from the University of Connecticut.
