Mr. Chesir was named vice president and head of new product development and risk marketing. He joins NYMEX from ABN AMRO, Inc., where he served as director and head of risk management for North America. His responsibilities included implementing firm-wide risk systems and analytics such as VaR, volatility, and stress models across multiple asset classes for futures, options, and over-the-counter products; managing market and credit risk for institutional customers, hedge funds, and proprietary ventures; defining and setting margin and position limits; design and implementation of various risk-based financing solutions for tier-one clients; and actively building and marketing generic and commodity-linked structured products, hedging, and trading programs.
Prior to that, Mr. Chesir worked for Merrill Lynch’s corporate and institutional client group in a variety of roles, including futures and options sales trader, trading software developer, project manager, and market data manager. He also worked at Credit Suisse as a software developer for the firm’s foreign exchange and derivatives businesses while earning a masters degree in finance from the Lubin School of Business at Pace University.
Mr. Rodriguez was named vice president of corporate development and strategic planning. He formerly served as a vice president in the global energy futures division at ABN AMRO Inc., where he was responsible for marketing and sales of clearing and financial products for the energy futures division of the global futures group, profit and loss management, new business development, and banking relationship management.
Mr. Rodriguez was previously employed with the New York Mercantile Exchange, Primordial, Inc., USWeb CKS, Accenture, and Verizon Wireless. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in art history and communications and a master of arts degree in communication and information systems from Rutgers University. He also holds a master of business administration from Columbia University.
