Nymex Increases Fees For Coal Futures

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., today amended its liquidity incentive program for Central Appalachian coal futures to increase the amount paid to liquidity providers as well as the fees paid by participants on the opposite side.

Under the program, any trader who makes a bid or offer that is subsequently accepted will receive $5.00 per contract, up from $1.00, and the participant on the other side of the trade will pay an all-inclusive fee of $10.00 per contract, up from $2.50. Fees for an exchange of coal futures for physicals submitted to NYMEX ClearPortsm clearing will be $6.50 per contract half-turn for Exchange members, up from $0.40, and $7.50 per contract half-turn for non-members, up from $0.85.
