Annual activity in gasoline futures reached 10,021,316 contracts through the end of November, breaking the previous annual record of 9,223,510 contracts set in 2001. November aluminum futures volume was 16,185 contracts, breaking the previous monthly record of 8,953 set in July 2002.
Areas that had already surpassed their annual record by the end of October and continue to establish new marks include: Exchange wide-volume, light, sweet crude oil futures and options; natural gas futures and options; total options; total futures; NYMEX Division futures and options; NYMEX Division futures; NYMEX Division options; energy futures and options; energy futures; energy options; and aluminum futures.
