NYMEX: Exchange Sets A Record In Natural Gas Options Trading

A record 79,701 natural gas options contracts were traded on the New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., yesterday, surpassing the previous record of 62,561 natural gas options contracts traded on May 24, 2000.

Exchange President J. Robert Collins, Jr., said, "The record options volume, coming on the heels of the trading record set in the natural gas futures market one day earlier, is a tangible demonstration that, in times of uncertainty, the energy industry continues to rely on the Exchange as the unquestionable leader in providing efficient markets and risk management services."
