The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc. announced today that it set daily volume records for heating oil and RBOB gasoline futures contracts traded on the CME Globex electronic trading platform yesterday.
Heating oil futures traded a record 39,639 contracts, exceeding the 37,987 contracts traded on November 16. RBOB gasoline futures reached 31,754 contracts, surpassing the 22,169 contracts traded on November 22.
NYMEX launched its physically settled futures contracts for trading on CME Globex during regular open outcry trading hours on September 5, following its initial offering of financially settled, standard-sized and NYMEX miNY energy futures contracts for trading on CME Globex on June 12. Access to electronic trading of NYMEX products is available virtually 24 hours a day on CME Globex.
