NYMEX ClearPort® Clearing Sets Volume Record

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., reached a record volume for ClearPort® clearing on January 6.

NYMEX ClearPort® cleared 300,138 contracts last Friday, surpassing the previous of 286,146 contracts cleared on September 29, 2005.

Exchange President James E. Newsome said, "As trading and clearing volume on NYMEX ClearPort® continues to grow, and we are gratified to provide a secure and efficient form of clearing to our market participants."
