Nymex: Brent Crude Oil Futures Volume Crosses 15,000 Contract Mark

Brent crude oil futures trading set a daily volume record on Friday for the second consecutive day when 16,427 contracts were traded on The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc.

President James E. Newsome said, "These two consecutive trading records are a strong indicator of the successful growth of Brent crude oil futures trading in Dublin. We are delighted to see an increasing number of participants making use of the availability or open outcry oil trading during the European business morning and look forward to increased activity as a result of our new trading permits."
