Nymex Brent Crude Oil Futures Set Record Volume

Brent crude oil futures trading set a daily volume record yesterday when 8,901 contracts were traded on The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc.–Europe trading floor.

President James E. Newsome said, "The Exchange is proud of the consistent growth in volume our Dublin–based contract has shown since it opened on November 1. We are pleased to see that more and more traders and customers are beginning to take advantage of the availability of open outcry oil trading during the European business morning."
