Nymex Board Approves Recommendations For Two New Vice Presidents

The board of directors of New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., last week appointed Sean Carrington as vice president of software development and Christopher Boyd as vice president of quality assurance.

Mr. Carrington, who was team leader of systems development at Sempra Energy Trading Corporation for the last three years, aided in the firm's software development process, object technology and database operations. Mr. Carrington worked on Sempra's Infinity Trading System, price collection, and reporting functions. Prior to that position, Mr. Carrington was senior business analyst at American Cynamid and a consultant and developer at Johnson and Higgins where he planned and upgraded modifications to their safety management system and planned modifications and stabilized a trust asset management system.

Mr. Carrington received his bachelor of science degree in computer science from Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York.

Immediately prior to joining the Exchange, Mr. Boyd was a consultant to Morgan Stanley Dean Witter on behalf of Spherion (formerly Interim Technology Consulting). In that capacity, he devised and implemented project initiation guidelines for the web services internet group, and streamlined data collection, reporting, and analysis of process metrics. Mr. Boyd also consulted for Citibank on behalf of Spherion, previous to his position for Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, where he provided methodology guidance for six separate project teams with the e-Citi internet start-up. Mr. Boyd participated in founding and establishing the firm's operations and technology quality group.

Mr. Boyd holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Queens University of Belfast in Belfast, Ireland.
