Nymex Announces Trading Fees For PJM Monthly Electricity Futures

Date 05/03/2004

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., yesterday announced trading fees that it will begin charging for the PJM monthly electricity futures contract beginning with the April 1 trading session.

The fees, including those for exchange of futures for swaps (EFS) transactions conducted on the trading floor, have been waived since the contract was launched on April 11, 2003.

Fees for open outcry trading will be the same as all other NYMEX Division futures contracts: $0.15 per side for a day trade and $0.40 per side for a position held overnight trade for Exchange members and $0.85 per side for non-members.

Fees for EFS transactions will be $2.50 for everyone.

Under the terms of the liquidity incentive program on NYMEX ClearPortsm, any trader on the system who makes a bid or offer in the PJM monthly electricity futures contract that is subsequently accepted will receive $1.20 per contract and the participant on the other side of the trade will pay an all–inclusive fee of $4.20 per contract.
