NYMEX Announces Specifications for the Nine New Metals Contracts on CME Globex®

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc. announced specifications for its COMEX miNYTM, Asian metals, and London metals futures contracts which will be traded on the CME Globex® electronic trading platform beginning on December 3 for trade date December 4.

The COMEX miNY gold contract, which will have the code QO, will be listed for all months that the underlying futures contract is available; with the exception of the current month. The contract size will be 50 troy ounces. The COMEX miNY silver contract will be listed for all months that the underlying futures contract is available; with the exception of the current month, under the code QI. The contract size will be 2,500 troy ounces. The COMEX miNY copper contract, which will have the code QC, will be listed for all months that the underlying futures contract is available; with the exception of the current month. The contract size will be 12,500 pounds.

The London copper grade A futures contract will be listed for 24 consecutive months beginning with the current month, under the code LK. The contract size is five metric tons. The London primary aluminium and SHG zinc futures contracts will be listed for 24 consecutive months beginning with the current month. The contract size for both is each is ten metric tons. The London primary aluminium contract will have the code LA and the London SHG zinc futures contract will have the code LZ.

The Asian gold futures contract will be listed for 12 consecutive months beginning with the next month, under the code QS. The contract size is 1,000 grams. The Asian platinum and palladium futures contracts will be listed for 12 consecutive months beginning with the next month. The contract size for each is 500 grams. The Asian platinum contract will have the code QR and the Asian palladium contract will have the code QT.

All contracts will be financially settled. Fees will be $0.40 for members, $0.58 for NYMEX members eligible for blended rates, and $0.75 for non-members. Cash settlement fees are waived for all contracts. EFM fees will be waived for the COMEX miNY futures contracts.

The contracts are available for trading on the CME Globex trading platform from 6:00 PM Sundays through 5:15 PM Fridays, Eastern Time, with a 45-minute break each day between 5:15 PM and 6:00 PM.
