Nymex Announces September 11 Trading Schedule; Memorial Service For September 5

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., today announced that it would hold a staggered opening of its markets on September 11, beginning at 11 AM, and will hold a memorial service at 3:15 PM on September 5 for the 29 traders and related staff and former members and staff killed on that day.

On September 11, the markets will open as follows:

  • 11 AM - light, sweet crude oil futures, options, and calendar spread options, natural gas futures, options, and calendar spread options, copper futures and options, Platinum futures and options
  • 11:05 AM - heating oil futures, options, and calendar spread optionsunleaded gasoline futures, options, and calendar spread options, Brent crude oil futures, options, and calendar spread options, Brent/WTI crude oil spread options, gold futures and options, aluminum futures and options, crack spread options, palladium futures
  • 11:10 AM - silver futures and options, propane futurescoal futures
The markets will close at their regular times.

The memorial service will be held on the NYMEX Division trading floor and will pay tribute to the following individuals:

Evan Baron; Michael Canty; Christopher Dincuff; Brendan Dolan; Dennis Foo; Steven Furman; Joseph Heller; Joseph Holland; Robert Hussa; Joseph Kellett; Karen Klitzman; Neil Leavy; James McAlary, Jr.; Thomas McGinnis; Damian Meehan; Mark Motroni; David Nelson; Patrick O'Shea; Robert O'Shea; Edward Oliver; James Paul; Mark Petrocelli; Peter Raimondi; Edward Ryan; Lonny Stone; Scott Timmes; Christopher Traina; Alfred Vukosa; and Elkin Yuen. More than 200 family members are expected to be in attendance.
