Nymex Announces Margins For New European, Asian, And Gulf Coast Refined Product Calendar Swap Futures

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., today announced the margins for the new energy calendar swap futures contracts for refined products traded in Europe, Asia, and the U.S. Gulf Coast that will be launched at 7:00 PM Sunday on NYMEX ClearPort^sm for the October 4 trading session.

The margins on the Singapore fuel oil 180 centistokes, Northwest Europe 1% fuel oil, Rotterdam 1% fuel oil, Rotterdam 3.5% fuel oil, and European Mediterranean 3.5% fuel oil calendar swap futures will be $17,000 for clearing members, $18,700 for members and $22,950 for customers.

The margins on Northwest Europe gasoil, Rotterdam gasoil, Northwest Europe ultra low–sulfur diesel (ULSD), Rotterdam ULSD, and European Mediterranean gasoil calendar swap futures will be $21,000 for clearing members, $23,100 for members, and $28,350 for customers.

The margins on Northwest Europe jet kerosene and Rotterdam jet kerosene calendar swap futures will be $22,000 for clearing members, $24,200 for members, and $29,700 for customers.

Margins on European naphtha calendar swap futures will be $23,000 for clearing members, $25,300 for members, and $31,050 for customers.

Margins on the calendar swap futures contract for Gulf Coast gasoline will be $3,500 for clearing members, $3,850 for members, and $4,725 for customers.

Margins on the Gulf Coast heating oil and Gulf Coast jet fuel calendar swap futures will be $3,250 for clearing members, $3,575 for members, and $4,388 for customers.

Margins on inter–month spreads involving all months of the Singapore fuel oil 180 centistokes, Northwest Europe 1% fuel oil, Rotterdam 1% fuel oil, Rotterdam 3.5% fuel oil, and European Mediterranean 3.5% fuel oil calendar swap futures will be $2,400 for clearing members, $2,640 for members and $3,240 for customers.

Margins on inter–month spreads involving all months of the Northwest Europe gasoil, Rotterdam gasoil, Northwest Europe ultra low–sulfur diesel (ULSD), Rotterdam ULSD, European Mediterranean gasoil, Northwest Europe jet kerosene, and Rotterdam jet kerosene calendar swap futures will be $3,400 for clearing members, $3,740 for members, and $4,590 for customers.

Inter–month spread margins on all months of the European naphtha calendar swap futures will be $3,800 for clearing members, $4,180 for members, and $5,130 for customers.

Margins on inter–month spreads involving all months of the Gulf Coast gasoline calendar swap futures will be $500 for clearing members, $550 for members, and $675 for customers. Inter–month spread margins involving all months of the Gulf Coast heating oil and jet fuel calendar swap futures will be $400 for clearing members, $440 for members, and $540 for customers.
