NYFE/PSE Agreement To Trade PSE Tech Index Futures Expires

The New York Board of Trade (NYBOT®) has announced that its New York Futures Exchange (NYFE®) subsidiary will not be renewing its agreement with the Pacific Stock Exchange (PSE) under which NYFE had licensed the PSE Technology Index sm.

To that end, the NYFE adopted a resolution to de-list PSE Tech Index futures and options contract months which have no open interest, and to not list any additional futures or options beyond the March 2001 contract month. The exchange will continue to list and trade futures and options months that currently have open interest until each contract matures or expires.

The NYFE initially entered into the agreement with the Pacific Stock Exchange in November, 1995 and has maintained a market for the PSE Tech Index futures and options contracts since that time. The PSE Technology Index is based on 100 listed and over-the-counter stocks from 15 different technology industries. The NYBOT index products subsidiary also trades futures and options contracts based on the Russell 1000 ® Index of large cap U.S. equities, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Composite Index ® and the Bridge/Commodity Research Bureau (CRB) Indexsm of 17 commodities.
