- A new options volume record of 51,768 contracts replaced the previous high of 47,170 contracts established December 1, 2005.
- In open interest, the World Sugar options contract (symbol SO) reached a new record of 555,998 contracts, replacing the December 15 open interest record of 539,154 contracts.
- For World Sugar futures (symbol SB) open interest, a new record of 526,031 contracts was established on December 16, replacing the previous record of 522, 253 contracts.
