NYBOT's U.S. Dollar Index Sets Futures Volume Record

The New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®) announced today a futures volume record for its U.S. Dollar Index® (USDX) contract of 18,067 contracts set on June 9, 2003. The previous USDX record of 16,388 contracts was set on March 10, 2003.

The U.S. Dollar Index is computed using a trade-weighted geometric average of six currencies, including the Euro (57.6%), the Japanese yen (13.6%), the U.K. pound (11.9%), the Canadian dollar (9.1%), the Swedish krona (4.2%), and the Swiss franc (3.6%). The USDX trades on NYBOT's New York trading floor from 9:05 am to 3:00 pm, with an evening session from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and on its Finex Dublin facility from 3:00 am to 9:05 am (all times NY).
