NYBOT: U.S. Dollar Index Sets All-Time Record For Futures Volume

The New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®) announced today a futures volume record for its U.S. Dollar Index® (USDX) contract of 16,338 contracts set on March 10, 2003. The previous USDX record of 12,757 contracts was set almost 13 years ago on March 20, 1990.

The U.S. Dollar Index is computed using a trade-weighted geometric average of six currencies. The six currencies, with their currency weight, are the Euro (57.6%), the Japanese yen (13.6%), the U.K. pound (11.9%), the Canadian dollar (9.1%), the Swedish krona (4.2%), and the Swiss franc (3.6%). In addition to NYBOT's New York trading floor, the USDX also trades at its Finex Dublin facility from 3:00 am to 8:05 am (NY Time).
