NYBOT To Change Trading Hours For NYSE Composite Index And Russell 1000 Index Futures And Options Contracts

The New York Board of Trade (NYBOT®) announced today that its New York Futures Exchange division will eliminate the New York Evening and Dublin Trading Sessions for its NYSE Composite Index® and Russell 1000® Index futures and options contracts, effective with the start of trading on Monday, May 14, 2001.

With this change, trading hours for each of these contracts will be from 9:30 am to 4:15 pm NY Time (On the last trading day of each month, trading ceases at 4:05 pm NY Time).

The NYSE Composite Index reflects the broad market of U.S. stocks, as more than 3,000 common stocks are listed on the NYSE representing some 46 separate industry classifications. The NYSE Composite is a capitalization- weighted index which measures the changes in aggregate market value of all the NYSE common stocks. The NYSE Composite Index is a registered trademark of the New York Stock Exchange, Inc., which is not a contract market for futures or futures options and is not affiliated with the New York Futures Exchange.

The Russell 1000 is a value-weighted index of the 1,000 U.S. common stocks with the largest market capitalization. The Index is rebalanced once a year. As a part of the Russell Equity Family of Indexes, the Russell 1000 represents the equity benchmark for a significant segment of the professional money management industry. The Indexes are produced and maintained by Frank Russell Company, one of the world’s leading investing management and consulting firms.
