NYBOT Sets August 17 For Russell 2000(R) Index Futures Launch On ICE Platform

Date 25/07/2007

IntercontinentalExchange, Inc. (NYSE: ICE), the leading electronic energy marketplace and soft commodity exchange, announced that the Russell 2000(R) Index full-size and mini-size futures listed by its wholly-owned, U.S. regulated subsidiary, the New York Board of Trade (NYBOT), will begin trading on the ICE platform on Friday, August 17, 2007.

"The interest in accessing all of the Russell futures contracts in one marketplace is tremendous, and we are pleased to bring these popular products to the ICE platform," said ICE Chairman and CEO Jeffrey C. Sprecher. "We are working with market participants to help expand their participation in the benchmark Russell futures contracts, and to significantly expand the equity index business we gained through our acquisition of the NYBOT."

NYBOT exchange and clearing fees for transactions on the ICE electronic platform for both the Russell 2000(R) full-size and mini contracts will be waived through September 2007. The Russell 2000 Index full-size futures contract has a multiplier of $500 times the Russell 2000 Index price. The Russell 2000 mini-size futures contract has a multiplier of $100 times the Russell 2000 Index price. The multipliers are the same as those for the Russell 1000(R) Index full-size and mini-size futures contracts, which were first offered on the ICE platform beginning June 15, 2007.

Starting August 17, the NYBOT Russell 1000 mini-size futures contracts will be available only in electronic trading on the ICE platform. NYBOT Russell 1000 full-size futures contracts will be offered both on the ICE platform and in open outcry on the NYBOT trading floor. NYBOT will offer a market maker program to support the development of deep and continuous markets in the Russell 2000 contracts.

Access to the NYBOT Russell 2000 Index contracts is available through WebICE, the web-based proprietary front end to ICE's trading system, as well as proprietary systems offered by brokerage firms and through approved independent software vendors (ISVs). More information about trading NYBOT's Russell futures on the ICE platform can be found by visiting the Russell section of the homepage at www.theice.com or by emailing russell@theice.com for more information.

The Russell 3000(R) Index measures the performance of the 3,000 largest U.S. companies based on total market capitalization. The Russell 2000 Index includes the smallest 2,000 securities in the Russell 3000 Index and is regarded as the leading barometer of the small-cap segment of the U.S. equity market. The Russell 1000(R) Index includes the largest 1,000 securities in the Russell 3000 Index and is a leading indicator of the large-cap segment of the U.S. equity market.

In June, ICE entered into an agreement to acquire the exclusive rights to list futures and options on futures contracts based on the Russell's U.S. equity index complex. Russell's innovative index methodology has resulted in these indexes becoming the benchmarks most frequently relied upon by institutional investors. Today, institutional investment professionals responsible for approximately $4 trillion in assets use Russell indexes to guide their portfolios, which account for 52% of institutional benchmarked products.
