The number announced will be for the cocoa beans processed in each quarter compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year. At the same time, a printed release will include a quarterly comparison of bean product usage in metric tons for beans ground, imported liquor melted and imported butter melted. Since 1923, the Chocolate Manufacturers Association of the USA (CMA) has served as the premier trade group for manufacturers and distributors of cocoa and chocolate products. The CMA serves as the voice of the American chocolate industry and through research, education, and public information works to insure the continued supply of cocoa and increased consumption of high value and quality chocolate products.
