It is with deep regret that the New York Board of Trade (NYBOT), a wholly-owned subsidiary of IntercontinentalExchange (NYSE: ICE), announces today the passing of Donald B. Conlin, who died last night in Burlington, Vermont. The loss will be mourned by all of Mr. Conlin’s many friends and colleagues at the Exchange and throughout the futures industry.
Mr. Conlin has been a Member of the NYBOT’s New York Cotton Exchange (NYCE) since August 25, 1954. On several occasions, he was elected Chairman of NYCE, holding the Chairmanship more than any other Member. More recently, Mr. Conlin was Chairman of both the NYBOT Cotton Committee and the NYBOT Cotton Warehouse & Delivery Committee. As Chairman Emeritus of NYBOT’s New York Cotton Exchange, he also led or participated in many trade delegations for the Exchange and other cotton groups to countries all over the globe, including China, India, Central and South America, and elsewhere.
Mr. Conlin, who was 78 years old, is survived by his wife Anne.
A Mass will be held in Mr. Conlin’s honor on Tuesday, March 6 at 2:30 pm ET at St. Joseph's Chapel, 500 Gateway Plaza on Liberty Street, Battery Park City, New York, NY.
