NYBOT March YTD Combined Futures And Options Volume Jumps 24 Percent - Agricultural And Financial Product Categories Have Strong Month

March came roaring in like a lion at the New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®), the world’s leading “soft” commodity exchange, as combined futures and options volume climbed 24% year-to-date (YTD), reaching 11,816,165 contracts.

Year-to-date increases were also recorded in Total Ag Futures (up 18%), Currency Futures (up 38%), Index Futures (up 17%), and Total Futures (up 20%). Options category standouts include Ag Options (up 38%) and Total Options (up 36%). Total currency pair futures and options were also up 31% YTD.

Some noteworthy individual product increases include Sugar No. 11sm (symbol SB) futures contract (up 29%), Orange Juice (symbol OJ) futures (up 25%), Cotton No. 2sm (symbol CT) futures (up 9%), Cocoa (symbol CC) futures (up 7%), U.S. Dollar Index® (symbol DX) futures (up 54%), and Russell 1000® Index (symbol R) futures (up 22%). Options gainers included Sugar No. 11 (symbol SO)(up 125%).
