NYBOT Announces Spot Cycle Months For U.S. Dollar-Rand Futures To Be Eliminated And November 2004 Futures Contract To Be Delisted

Date 14/10/2004

The New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®) announced today that effective with the close of business today, October 14, an amendment to its rules will be implemented. The effect of the amendment is to remove provisions for Spot Cycle Contract Months in the U.S. Dollar/South African Rand futures contract.

Presently there are two Spot Cycle Contract Months listed for trading, October and November 2004, and the Serial Option Contract Month of November is listed for trading as well. The November 2004 futures and options contracts, which have no open interest, will be delisted at the close of trading today. The October 2004 futures contract, which has 20 lots of open interest, will continue to trade through its last trading day on October 18, 2004.

Coincidently with the delisting of the November 2004 Dollar/Rand options, which had the November future as its underlying futures contract, effective with the start of business on trading day October 15, a new November 2004 option will be listed, which will have the December 2004 future as its underlying futures contract; January 2005 and February 2005 options will also be listed for trading, and each will have the March 2005 future as the underlying.

To receive a copy of the amendments, please call the NYBOT Corporate Secretary’s Office 212 748-4082.
