NYBOT Announces September 11th Memorial Observance And Trading Schedule

The New York Board of Trade (NYBOT®) announced yesterday that it will recognize the events of September 11, 2001, by making announcements on the trading floor and dimming the lights for one minute as follows:

  8:46 a.m American Flight 11 crashes into the WTC North Tower
  9:03 a.m. United Flight 175 crashes into the WTC South Tower
  9:43 a.m. American Flight 77 crashes into Pentagon
  9:59 a.m. WTC South Tower collapses
10:10 a.m. United Flight 93 crashes in Pennsylvania
10:29 a.m. WTC North Tower collapses

Other memorial observances will include:
  A musical tribute performed by NYBOT Member Anthony DeMarco which will be held from 10:15 a.m. to 10:25 a.m. in honor of those lost on 9/11.
  Prior to the delayed opening of the CSCE, FINEX and NYFE markets, beginning at 10:29 a.m., NYBOT will hold a four-minute period of silence in memory of each member lost on 9/11, Dennis Foo, Doug Gardner, Mark Motroni and Patrick O’Shea.
  Following the close of the Coffee, Sugar and Cocoa markets and prior to the delayed opening of the Cotton and FCOJ markets, beginning at 12:15 p.m., NYBOT will hold a Memorial Service in front of the Long Island City Trading Facility with guests speakers to address members and staff. The Service will conclude at 12:45 p.m. with a bagpipe procession performed by NYBOT Members Christopher Heinl and James A. Walkin.
  Following the service and prior to the delayed opening of the NYCE and FCOJ markets, beginning at 12:50 p.m., NYBOT will hold a four-minute period of silence in memory of each member lost on 9/11, Dennis Foo, Doug Gardner, Mark Motroni and Patrick O’Shea.

Trading hours on September 11, 2002 for the NYBOT markets are as follows:

Coffee, Sugar and Cocoa contracts will delay their openings until 10:40 a.m. and follow their regular closing schedule.
