NYBOT Announces Rule Ammendments To The January 2003 Sugar No. 11 Futures And Options Contracts

The New York Board of Trade (NYBOT®) announced today several changes to its options listings for its Sugar No. 11 futures contract following the addition of a January futures contract beginning January 2003.

The option listing changes include the following:

  • an option contract traded on the January future which expires the preceding December has been added to the category of "regular option months"; this option will begin with the listing of the January 2003 options contract;
  • the option contract traded on the March future which expires the preceding December has been deleted from the category of "regular option months"; the January 2002 options contract which will expire in December 2001 will continue to have the March 2002 future as the underlying contract;
  • an option traded on the January future which expires in October and an option traded on the January future which expires in November have been added to the category of "serial option months"; these options will begin with the listing of the November and December 2002 options contracts; and
  • the option contract traded on the March future which expires in October and an option traded on the March future which expires in November have been deleted from the category of "serial option months"; the November and December 2001 options contracts will continue to have the March 2002 future as the underlying contract.
On Wednesday, June 27, 2001, NYBOT announced that the January 2003 Sugar No. 11 futures contract will be listed for trading on the Coffee, Sugar & Cocoa Exchange, Inc. on Friday, June 29, 2001.
