NYBOT Announces Revisions To Reuters/CRB Contract Terms And Adds New Continous Commodity Index Contracts

Date 13/06/2005

The New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®) announced today that effective June 20, 2005, the Exchange is implementing amendments to its Rules to rename the Reuters CRB Futures Price Index futures and options contracts as the Reuters Jefferies CRB Futures Price Index futures and options contracts (“the RJCRB contracts”) and make certain changes to the RJCRB futures and options contract terms. The amendments also create the new Continuous Commodity Index futures and options contracts (“the CCI contracts”).

The new CCI contracts will be listed for trading on June 20, 2005; contract terms are identical to those of the pre-existing Reuters CRB futures and options contracts (a detailed list of specifications is available at www.nybot.com). Contract months listed for trading on that date will be the August 2005, November 2005, January 2006 and February 2006. Prior to the start of trading on June 20, all outstanding open interest in the pre-existing Reuters CRB futures and options contracts as of the close of business on Friday June 17 will have been transferred to the corresponding CCI futures or options contract.

The new RJCRB futures contracts will be listed for trading on July 11, 2005, with options listed for trading the following business day. Under the amended contract terms, the contract months to be listed are the September 2005, December 2005, March 2006 and June 2006 expiries, and the contract multiplier will be $200 times the index (a detailed list of specifications is available at www.nybot.com).
