NYBOT Announces Removal Of Moratorium At Licensed Coffee Warehouses In The Port Of Antwerp

Date 17/11/2005

The New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®) announced today that effective immediately, the moratorium previously placed at Molenbergnatie 3 Way 7 and Wilmarsdonk 3 Way 9, in the Port of Antwerp, has been removed.

On July 29, 2005, a severe thunderstorm damaged the NYBOT-licensed coffee warehouses of Molenbergnatie 3 Way 7 and Wilmarsdonk 3 Way 9 in the Port of Antwerp. On August 2, NYBOT’s Cocoa, Coffee and Pulp Warehouse and License Committee instituted a moratorium on any further certification of coffee being stored at such warehouses until the repairs were completed and the warehouses meet Exchange standards.

The New York Board of Trade (NYBOT) is New York’s original futures exchange, where the world trades food, fiber and financial products. For well over a century, the New York Board of Trade has provided reliability, integrity and security in a global marketplace for cocoa, coffee, cotton, ethanol, orange juice, pulp and sugar, as well as currency and index futures and options.
