October 28, 2009 saw a new record number of trades and trading volume in most liquid instruments trading on FORTS, RTS’s derivatives section.
By the end of the trading session on October 28, 2009 the total number of trades in futures and options had hit a record high of 523,596 trades. The previous record was set on October 22, 2009, when the market participants made 511,263 trades.
The trading volume in the RTS Index futures contract also reached a record level of 1,011,712 contracts. The previous record was registered on October 22, 2009 with the RTS Index futures volume exceeding 1,000,330 contracts.
The trading volume record for futures contracts was also reset on October 28, 2009, when the maгket participants transacted USD3.653 billion. The previous record was set on October 22, 2009 with the market participants transacting USD3.616 billion.
